Automobiles and pedestrian safety have had to learn to co-habit. We cannot do without the former and the more we 'do with' them it seems the more the latter has been done away with. Simply stated the astonishing increase in the number of vehicles on the road has posed a problem for people walking on it. Car manufacturers these days have realized the importance of it all and have introduced advanced safety features in their cars. From the affordable to the luxurious segment of cars, there are such safety features that it'd take a complete douche bag of a driver to end up doing something silly on the road. Cars today can take you out of many dangerous situations provided you are alert and involved with your driving. They have airbags to save you in case of a crash, have efficient braking system and beep the hell out you till you put on your seatbelts.

Taillights for example; some cars come with a feature called Ford Taillights. If you brake extra hard, the brake lights flash rapidly. Its effectiveness has been proved in indicating following drivers into braking. So not only the S-class will prevent itself from hitting the car in front, it'll ensure it doesn't get hit from the back either. The armored version of the Cadillac which the U.S President uses has a similar bit of electronic trickery with its taillights.
